JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager/Senior Administrator

Job SummaryResponsible for providing support for the overall road racing program, including the U.S. Majors Tour, Hoosier SCCA Super Tour, National Championship Runoffs and local racing initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Road Racing in the formation of department event operational goals and the supporting strategies and tactics.
  • Assist Director of Road Racing as needed in daily operations of Road Racing Program.
  • Assist Regions and individual members with Road Racing Program processes and procedures.
  • Schedule meetings, webinars, events in support of the Road Racing Volunteer Committees and Field Staff.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Executive Stewards and Divisional Administrator Coordinators, providing support, materials and regular conference calls.
  • Assist with Road Racing Accredited Driver School Program, maintaining contracts, invoicing, and administrative activities.
  • Assist the Director of Road Racing with the U.S. Majors Tour and Hoosier SCCA Super Tour series.
  • Manage the processing, uploading and auditing of U.S. Majors Tour points and Regional participation records.
  • Perform general event operational functions for the Runoffs® including:
    • Website posting of Runoffs information for the event
    • Event entry processing for drivers and volunteers
    • Manage vendor registrations and assignments
    • Develop and run event reports
    • Develop event materials and other items as necessary in cooperation with Marketing Dept
    • Non-racing aspects of event, including social event enhancements
    • Assist with post-event recaps
  • Prepare data reports and charts for department analysis, as needed.
  • Assist with management and response of the Road Racing Department general e-mail and phone messaging systems.

Experience and Training:

  • Minimum Education:  Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and Internet is required.
  • Beneficial Experience:  Familiarity with SCCA Road Racing program or similar motorsports experience.

      Reporting Relationships:

      • This Position Reports to: Director of Road Racing

        Environmental Requirements:

        • Work is conducted in an indoor business environment.  Some exposure to unfavorable conditions may be encountered during travel for business requirements to race facilities across the United States.

        Physical Requirements

        • Ability to participate in high level as well as routine conversation.
        • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 10 pounds on a daily basis.
        • Requires walking 5% of the time, standing 15% and sitting 80% of the time.
        • Conditions may require work in low and bright light; use of near and far vision acuity; use of depth perception, color sensitivity, and a field of vision (peripheral vision).

          Other Requirements:

          • Ability to understand verbal information and instruction.  Ability to exchange information with others and to develop and present recommendations.
          • Ability to read and understand complex written information.  Ability to compose information and instruction in written form.
          • Ability to translate verbal communication into effective written material; e.g., reports and other documents.
          • Ability to use and apply technology.  Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and internet, web-based programs.
          • Occasional travel to race facilities across the United States (4-6 times per year).
          • Attendance at National Championship Runoffs (12-14 day trip)
